Please Please Me Stereo L P

About Please Please Me Stereo L P

This was the Beatles first official LP release. As an isolated case the mono version was issued six weeks prior to the stereo version with the latter being available by special order only.In 1963 Music shops were only shipped mono copies of LP's for the major market. This record still holds the record for the longest continuous stay at number one.

What's interesting

For every track on the album an alternate stereo mix was created. As the singles were often composites of several takes this led to the stereo version of the album being different to the mono. The stereo version unlike the mono was mastered at the correct speed.
