Supergirl Action Comics 252

About Supergirl Action Comics 252

Superman stories in Action Comics and his own title had become a bit routine and boring, however with this issue the introduction of a cousin from Krypton alongside a début of Metallo the cyborg villain who had kryptonite for his power source added a new dynamic to the character

What's interesting

With a lot of artistic license Supergirl's delayed arrival to Earth was explained with the narrative that she lived in Argo city on Krypton which was encapsulated in a protective shield to protect it from imminent destruction. The shield worked to a degree as the city was blown away from the surface when Krypton exploded, Argo remained cast adrift in space until the cities shield began to fail due to a meteorite storm, thsi required yet another solitary escape from certain doom this time copying Superman's own path utilising a spaceship to sanctuary on Earth.
