The Sweeney

About The Sweeney

BBC TV series Dixon of Dock Green reflected the UK Bobby on the beat a community police that that knew everyone in the neighbourhood and sorted out local disputes. There's an interesting theory emerging that the hard hitting American and British police shows of the day such as Softly Softly and the Sweeney began to influence the behaviour of the police force creating a toxic environment of wannabe Flying Squad officers imitating principle characters Jack Regan and George Carter.
