The novel On Her Majesty's Secret Service was the first to be published after the film series had started and is easily the most aligned content between book and the film with a sly dig from Fleming of Bonds over reliance of gadgets

What's interesting

On Her Majesty's Secret Service was delayed twice in the production schedule Thunderball was always the movie the producers wanted to make as the story at least on paper was strong , However when Fleming published OHMMS with critics suggesting it was his best work made the decision of what was the next novel to make into a film much harder
